I have a terrible memory!

I can’t remember names of people I’ve met a few times. I almost never remember to send in permission slips for the boys’ field trips. And without my grocery list, I’d never make it home with everything we need. I always thought it would be impossible for me to memorize Scripture.

But here’s the thing: I can memorize the lyrics to countless 80’s songs. I know recipes by heart. I can recite line after line of dialogue to my favorite movies.

The hard truth is I could memorize God’s Word if I wanted to. If I truly believed it was worth the time and energy. Maybe if I spent a little less time on social media and more time meditating on God’s Word, I could commit it to memory.
