Any other mama way more aware of your kids’ antics and attitudes when you’re out and about?
Oh I hope it’s not just me. I cringe at how my guys speak to one another when we are at the grocery store. My mama voice is more measured and thoughtful when we’re out at a restaurant. I guess the truth is I want people to think I’m a good mom to good kids.
The goal of parenting isn’t behavior modification; it’s heart transformation. And I’m not just talking about my boys. I want my parenting to change my heart as well. I want what my kids need, not what others think, to be the motivating factor for how I parent.
I hope I remember that the next time one of them pitches a fit in the grocery store.
