My Dad has been my pastor my entire life.
All told, my parents have been serving the church in pastoral ministry for more than 40 years. Can I share with you a bit of behind the scenes secrets of a family in ministry?
Being a pastor and pastor’s wife is crazy hard. They weep privately with families in pain. They personally feel the sting and heartache every time a family leaves our church. Dad bears the weight and pressure of problems that most of the rest of the church has no idea are even there.
I’m not asking you to feel sorry for your pastor and his family. God has called, equipped and is sustaining them. But please, please pray for your pastor and their spouse.
Theirs is a heavy and holy assignment. Our prayers are our part to help shoulder their burden.
