“Here’s the church; here’s the steeple. Open the doors and there’s the people.”
Did you say that poem as a kid, folding your hands and fingers into a building and steeple filled with people? The Church is made up of people, led by people and served by people.
But no matter where we may be in our relationship with Jesus Christ, none of us are perfect. Our churches are led and made up of broken people.
No church is perfect. No place is free from conflict, heartache or frustration. But we are still the way God has chosen to spread the Good News about Jesus to our unsaved co-workers, family members, neighbors or friends.
Imperfect as we may be, let’s find a church, steeple or not, and be the people who open the doors for others to see Jesus.
