What if today’s disappointment is making room for tomorrow’s appointment?
Recently, I invited a friend to go with me on a trip. She really wanted to go. But as she prayed about it, she felt the Lord was telling her not to accept the invitation.
There really weren’t specific reasons. She just simply knew deep in her heart that God was saying “no.”
Instead, she was to circle those days on her calendar and then watch with trust and expectation for God to reveal other plans.
I was sad my friend couldn’t join me on the trip, but at the same time, I was inspired by her response. I want to live in expectation of God’s invitation.
Therefore, I need to remember to take requests for my time to the Lord and ask, “Is this the way You want me to use this time?” And then listen for a simple yes or no. And if I don’t hear His voice, I will trust I’m supposed to go, and things will work out.
